I own it. No it didn't work for me simply because of the fact that my card doesn't go to a low enough resolution for my tv to accept. This doesn't mean it deserves a negative review. It works exactly as it said it should.
Very disappointed. Dosn't do what I thought, or need software to install. should be plug 'n' play.Thought it went from computer to TV set without using VGA port on TV. Did not work.
Bought the cable. It doesn't work. It would cost me more to send it back as a return than it would to just keep it. Don't buy the product, it won't work as advertised (if you don't read the fine print).
So save yourself the time, energy, and (yes) little cash and save up and invest in a converter, I found a cheap one for about $50.00, some go up to $100 and higher, but unlike this product. Monkey, it's a completely different signal, I knew that too but I was trying to be cheap LOL.
Monkey is 110% correct so read his post before buying it. Just that post should have told me to not get this, and also the 10 other negative reviews, BUT I thought I'd give it a shot, I mean it's cheap and a converter is rather pricy.
Everyone, Dr. It's simply put by Dr.
I bought this device to try to hookup a PS2 to my LCD monitor, didn't work. I tried a few other combos and devices (DVD player, PS1, PC, etc) And before I get the whole "your computer must have tv-out capabilities" lectures, well yes the PC does and still doesn't work.
It's similar trying to put a DVD into a VHS player, WON'T WORK. They work.
For ANY S-Video to VGA adapater to work, your computer MUST have tv-out capabilities. This is dependent upon your graphics card type. I did my research, and since my computer has tv-out capability this adapter worked just fine. Having both S-Video and RCA is a nice feature as well.
